POLAND and Ukraine will host Euro 2012. UEFA president Michel Platini unveiled the dual bid as the winners in Cardiff this morning after they beat off Italy and another combined bid from Croatia and Hungary.

Italy had been the favourites to land the championships, but it is thought the recent crowd violence was enough to put off the committee.

The proposed venues in Poland are Gdansk, Poznan, Wroclaw and Warsaw with the Ukrainian cities in Dnipropetrovsk, Kiev, Lvov and Donetsk also on the list at the moment.
