Muzyczna Galeria Grodzka 1

Type: Club
Location: Old Town
Music style: Pop/Rock

Address: Grodzka 1
Tel: +48 663700204

For some people grabbing a few quick days away, time spent sleeping is time that is wasted, so it’s good to know that there’s a convenient option on the corner of the Main Square leading into Grodzka Street. The newly opened Music Gallery Grodzka 1 offers a multitude of entertainment, eating and drinking options over several floors, plus a covered courtyard and an annex. The ground floor offers daily live music, with ‘live’ karaoke on Thursday and Friday nights. Karaoke and many of the gigs are free. The first and second floors are given over to two dance clubs that revive two famous names on Krakow’s late night scene – ‘Kitsch’ (hi-energy pop) and ‘Lubu-Dubu’ (pop with an indie twist) – both open until dawn and again, admission is free. In the annex is Club 44, where tougher sounds like dubstep and drum’n’bass rule the roost (tickets only and a door policy applies). The covered courtyard functions as a large concert hall and is also the main dancing part of Grodzka 1 itself. Additionally there is a grill, where you can get hot food and zapiekanki (a tasty snack somewhat like a pizza, only using a half-baguette as a base instead). There’s not that many full-on late-night drinking and dancing venues right on the Main Square, so if you want to keep it central there’s a wealth of choices here. The crowds tend to be on the younger side, and from October through to May, when the city’s population is swelled by tens of thousands of students, you’ll find the Grodzka 1 complex packed to the rafters all night long.
